A standout in every category

Everyone has covered the fact that indeed, this hotel is off the beaten path and yes, because it's so big the odds of having a 3 to 5 minute walk to your room are pretty high. We were wayyy down the hallway on the 4th floor in room 7866 and if you don't have anyone in your party with mobility issues the walk is really a non-issue. The rooms are so well themed and the Savannah view is so worth the extra money that staying here really is a must do for any Disney fan. Being pool side feels like you're in an exotic locale, surrounded by palm trees and gardens and the stress from a long day at the parks literally oozes out of you. Having spent half our stay at Bay Lake Towers on this trip I can sincerely say the Kidani Village pool is a) better than the Jambo pool (my children tried both and agreed) and b) miles ahead of the Bay Lake pool. We've stayed previously at Beach Club, Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge, and I would rank the Kidani pool as being our second favorite (because no one can touch Beach Club on that front). The staff here were exceptional, especially Mary at the front desk who provided us with so much Disney magic. The buses were convenient and we almost always had a seat. Walking in the lobby after a long day made me smile every single time. This really is like coming home for us and I would recommend this property to anyone who isn't deterred by the potential walk.

Awesome disney experience

DisneyMama85 (Toronto, Canada) on Nov 22, 2022

We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani for the first time in November 2022. We have stayed at Jambo before (last year). We booked a DVC studio villa, savanna view.Last year we also had a savanna view at Jambo and we heard the savanna is better at Kidani so we were very excited. Our jambo experience was better from a balcony perspective. We had tons of giraffes, zebra's and antelopes last year. This year we had one zebra and two antelopes. It was still good but after my experience last year, I guess I was hoping for the same but I know you can't control the animal's!Our room was comfortable. The bathroom had a separate toilet area from the bathtub and sink but the area with the toilet was dark and had zero decor, not a big deal but I was a little surprised, was like the bathroom area was overlooked. We were room 7977 which was faaaaaar. I read previous reviews about long hallways and we're a young able bodied family, no strollers, wheelchairs or anything so didn't pay much attention to that... but wow people weren't kidding. The walk to refill our cups was sometimes not worth it lol.Food - I do wish there was a quick serve at Kidani, it's a pain to go to Jambo. We did take advantage of the breakfast grab and go at Sanaa thou and had dinner at the Pool bar.The store is small but has what you need. Any further shopping opportunities you'd have to go to Jambo. We walked over frequently, not sure how often the shuttle comes.Transportation is only buses so make sure before you choose to stay here that that's OK. We don't mind the buses so it wasn't an issue for us.Pool is amazing. Splash pad is also amazing.Very entertaining cast members running the games. The slide is tons of fun.We prefer this pool to Jambo's (atmosphere, slide as well as the pool itself)

Wonderful 4 night stay

JTM419 (Dallas, Texas) on Nov 20, 2022

We stayed last week in a roomy Sunset Savanna 2 br suite and enjoyed the patio and constant entertainment the giraffes and other animals provided. Just a short bus ride away from the parks, and a shuttle away from quick bites at Jamba House. Only disappointment was that Christmas decorations were not up yet.

Not as good as it used to be

hannahrens (Liverpool, United Kingdom) on Oct 26, 2022

Facilities, staff and food are all faultless but the rooms are looking very tired. All furniture was chipped, scraped and showed large signs of wear and tear. I expected better from a deluxe resort and hope that a refurb is planned for the near future.

Brilliant, tranquil resort in the hustle and bustle of Disney

LeonardsInHK (Sentosa Island, Singapore) on Oct 25, 2022

We just completed a week long stay in Disneys Kidani Village. We had a savannah view, 2-bed apartment. It was our first stay as a new Disney vacation member. PROS: Apartment well large enough for our two families of two couples and a 20, 16 and 14 year oldSpacious rooms and good unpacking space making it perfect for longer staysExcellent transport facilities. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this resort is too far out - it’s not!Good temperature control meaning it was cool enough to sleepI’d read reports of the resort looking tired but this was not my experienceQuiet resort, no room to room noise and a resort with a gentle pace to it. Zebra and ostrich outside your bedroom window with a small balcony go hang out and watch themKitchen well equipped - certainly for most basic needs of breakfast cereals and coffee making etcLarge fridge, ice section and immaculately cleanI appreciated there were no disposable cups etc in the room to aid the sustainability effort (and the Polynesian should learn from this please)Big fluffy towels and good showers in multiple (3) bathroomsLots of restaurant choices between Kidani and Sana (see sep reviews)Kidani is much quieter and less chaotic than Jambo - so it you value serenity (and bigger rooms), choose KidaniCONS: Yes, it can be a long walk down dull corridors to get back to your room - 4.5 min pacy walk to room 7867. We used it as an extra way to get our steps in but for some families with younger children it might be too muchBed in main bedroom mattress was lumpy and pillows were too soft (for us)Pull out bed mattresses in the lounge may be ok for small kids but our older teens found them paper thin and super uncomfortable Air con unit kept us cool but man was it noisy and the constant on/off system took some getting used to, to sleepI feel Disney could do better with the perimeter fence for the animals. It’s rather prison like and where our room was, the grazing area was very narrow meaning we looked at the unattractive fence the whole time. Finally I reported a zebra limping badly outside our room. I’m sure the keepers knew about it, but accidents can happen so wanted to mention it. The lad I reported it to at the concierge was verging on rude - fortunately a colleague of his swept in and thanked me but that could have been handled betterAll in all I’d give this resort 4.5 stars and would def stay again. Asante Sana everyone!
