News about Hello, I'm Dolly

Dolly Parton musical bio “Hello, I’m Dolly” heading to Broadway in 2026 – and the West End? A brand new musical biography about country music legend Dolly Parton is heading to Broadway in 2026 . The show will be called Hello, I’m Dolly, named after her 1967 debut studio album, and cover the country music singer's life and career. Hello, I'm Dolly will feature many of Dolly's best-known songs plus new songs she has written especially for the musical. The musical has a book by Dolly Parton and Maria S. Schlatter, who wrote the holiday TV movie Christmas on the Square starring Dolly Parton. Cast and creatives are to be announced, although Dolly has confirmed that she is definitely not appearing in the show. Hello, I'm Dolly is produced by Dolly Parton, alongside UK theatre producer Adam Speers for ATG Productions (Cabaret, Sunset Boulevard), and Danny Nozell for CTK Enterprises, Dolly's music agent. The news was announced by Dolly herself at the annual CMA Fest in Nashville. With ATG producing the show, there's a good chance that Hello, I'm Dolly will play in an ATG-owned theatre on Broadway, and will transfer to the West End, although no details have been confirmed. Dolly said in a press statement that, "I lived my whole life to see this show on stage. I’ve written many original songs for the show and included all your favorites in it as well. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll clap, you’ll stomp, it truly is a Grand Ol’ Opera. Pun and fun intended. Don’t miss it!” Adam Speers said: "I first had the pleasure of working with Dolly Parton in 2019 when she trusted us to develop a new version of her musical 9 to 5 for London’s West End. I had always heard she wanted to do a musical based on her life, so when she asked if I would be interested in producing it, I was bowled over. As the world knows, Dolly is a magical blend of talent, hard work, intelligence, charm, wit and a gigantically big heart. I’m thrilled we’re going to bring her inspiring story to Broadway." Currently playing in the UK on tour is Dolly Parton musical Here You Come Again, which features Dolly's songs but is not affiliated with Hello, I'm Dolly and is not about Dolly's life. Here You Come Again stars Tricia Paoluccio as Dolly Parton and Steven Webb as Kevin, and plans a West End run in 2024. More about HELLO, I'M DOLLY
