Ramel’s Molly Falconer, who with her husband raised two extraordinary children, led a life of inspiration and care for others through her national television reporting, leadership training work with top executives from around the world, and community service. . Molly was born in Washington, DC in 1970, the eldest daughter of her father Allan Ackerman, of Chicago, and her mother, Abigail Campbell King, AIA of Jamestown, RI. His father is an entrepreneur and was CEO of several international management consulting firms. Her mother is an architect currently practicing in Rhode Island. Molly grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts and attended Shady Hill School in Cambridge. A classmate from those days recently said, “She excelled in both academic achievement and well-organized, high-intensity shenanigans.”
Molly was recognized throughout her life as an extraordinary and accomplished human being, and as a kind, tough and intelligent mother and wife with a true sense of humor. She was a passionate knowledge seeker and athlete: in high school at Milton Academy, she was captain of the squash team, Massachusetts State Champion and top ten nationally for Out of Time Speech, and the first woman to be editor of the Milton newspaper. . At Harvard, she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was named a John Harvard Scholar. Launching her television career, she established herself as a powerful talent on smaller cable stations, attracting the attention of national networks, where she was a New York City daily anchor and reporter for several years, winning an Emmy Award. for her 9/11 report. She loved language and did what she wanted.
Leaving broadcast television to marry Guillaume, the love of her life, Molly moved with him to Newport, Rhode Island to start their family. She soon held a position as director of the department of media relations at Brown University before establishing herself in the corporate world, founding and leading Periwinkle Worldwide. In the business world, she quickly became a sought-after trusted coach and professor of leadership executives, often helping them derive a compelling narrative from tangled ideas. His clients ran organizations that are household names around the world. With both her family and clients, she put others ahead of herself.
At rest, his nose was in a book, and whatever the subject of the book, soon after he would translate its essence to help his children or a client. Her husband Guillaume’s writing improves forever thanks to Molly’s advice and editing, as well as his speeches for both of his political campaigns. A childhood friend said of Molly: “She was totally clear in her understanding of complex people, places, and relationships. This made her a smart and successful journalist and a smart businesswoman. Guillaume and Molly were dedicated to each other for almost two decades. As an example, Molly was descended from pilots, but was afraid of flying and overcame it to be with Guillaume on his many adventures in the clouds.
