Technology at ISY is used to enhance student learning across the curriculum in purposeful and meaningful ways. It aims to support a culture of learning where teachers and students alike are adept users and implementers of digital technology where information and ideas are communicated, explored, evaluated, and created. Within this context, students engage in authentic learning experiences that facilitate local and global collaboration, creative problem solving, and the development of innovative products.
In an ever-changing digital environment, students learn fundamental tools, knowledge, and skills that are necessary for life and learning. Students build an ethical base to their use of technology through learning to advocate and practice safe, legal, and responsible use of information and technology.

Yes, ISY has adapted well to virtual learning. We have created a separate platform for students who are not in the same time zone to learn at their own pace. Then we also have synchronous lessons where students zoom into classes. This works for students who are physically in class and also virtual as cameras allow the students who are not in the class to see everything that is going on and interact with students in real time.

In addition to an already differentiated curriculum and student centered learning, students with special learning needs can receive individualized or small group targeted instruction using specific interventions delivered by the learning services provider and/or the classroom teacher. The interventions are selected to match the learning need. These interventions can include push-in classroom and/or pull-out support depending on the type of intervention necessary. Specific classroom accommodations are also provided to ensure the student is receiving full access to the curriculum and other classroom and school activities.

In addition to student centered learning and a differentiated curriculum, students who have higher abilities have access to extensions to the curriculum, curriculum compacting, mentorships, and special projects. In addition, CTY* course options are offered at the elementary school level (*Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth)

Yes, ISY competes internationally against schools in the South East Asian region. This is called (SEASAC). We also compete against local international schools in Yangon (Yangon Athletic Conference) - YAC.

We have a main library and another area for books and study we call the Learning Commons. We have a number of Science Labs and a flexible large stage for events.
